Research Interests for Patients
My expertise is in toxicology, and specifically my research explores cellular signal transduction networks related to organism robustness by investigating the molecular impacts of physical, chemical and biological insults on functional mechanisms. I have spent my career exploring the “point of no return” in living systems, which is a theoretical threshold that delineates the ability of an organism to recover from, or succumb to, its injuries. My goal is to develop techniques and tools that can diagnose and predict critical cellular changes associated with patient outcomes to enhance recovery. As such, much of my research has involved the study of occupational and environmental threats, drugs of abuse, and biological agents.
