Care Philosophy

I strive to understand the unique circumstances surrounding my patient's endocrine disorder and propose a solution that best adapts to my patient's needs.

Clinical Interest for Patients

My clinical interests include primarily thyroid, pituitary, and metabolic bone disorders, particularly abnormal thyroid function, thyroid nodules and cancer, disorders of prolactin secretion, pituitary tumors, disorders of calcium metabolism and osteoporosis.

Research Interests for Patients

My research interests have involved the molecular basis of pituitary gene expression and regulation, primarily thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), and more recently, the mechanisms underlying thyroid autoimmunity, focusing on the genetic and immunological development of disease.

Clinical Interests for Referring Providers

My clinical interests focus on thyroid dysfunction, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, hyperprolactinemia, pituitary tumors, and calcium and metabolic bone disorders.

Research Interest for Referring Providers

My research background was in the molecular biology of pituitary gene expression and regulation, specifically of the glycoprotein hormone alpha-subunit, that is part of the hormones thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and the mechanism of inhibitory control of thyroid hormone on TSH gene expression. More recently, I have done collaborative research work on the genetic susceptibility for autoimmune thyroid disease, and the immunological mechanism of the development of autoimmune thyroid dysfunction.
