Information for Referring and Transferring Patients

Clinical Interests for Referring Providers

I am interested in neurotropic virus infections, particularly those caused by herpesviruses (e.g. VZV, HSV, and EBV) including postherpetic neuralgia, stroke, giant cell arteritis, facial pain syndromes, and cognitive impairment.

Research Interest for Referring Providers

I study the molecular mechanisms of varicella zoster virus vasculopathy that leads to stroke and giant cell arteritis, as well as the role of alphaherpesviruses in dermatomal-distribution pain without rash, headache and facial pain syndromes.
